The Problem
Mindbody was built for gyms, not solo practitioners.
Solo wellness practitioners — acupuncturists, energy healers, Reiki providers — are paying $100–200/month for platforms like Mindbody or Vagaro that were built for large gyms. The booking UX is generic, the branding belongs to the platform, and the features they're paying for go mostly unused.
The real cost of Mindbody: At $150/mo, that's $1,800/year — before per-booking fees. Platform.co replaced it with a fully custom site the owner controls, at a flat build fee with no monthly platform subscription and zero commission per booking.
Online Booking

The booking calendar shows real-time availability based on the owner's schedule — hours, blocked dates, service durations. Each service can have multiple variants with independent prices and durations, surfaced in a detail panel so clients can compare before booking.
Confirmation and reminders go out automatically by email. Self-serve cancel and reschedule links are in every confirmation — with automatic tiered refunds (full beyond 48 hrs, 50% inside 48 hrs).

Gift Cards

Gift cards are a first-class feature — promoted on the site, purchased via Stripe, and delivered to the recipient by email with a unique code. Clients can check their remaining balance anytime and redeem at checkout. Balances are tracked automatically — no spreadsheet, no manual redemption codes.

The owner manages everything from a single protected dashboard — appointments, client records, revenue, availability, services, gift cards, discount codes, and site appearance. Every change reflects on the live site immediately. No code, no developer call.

White Bear Harmonics scores 93 on Google's desktop Lighthouse audit. After launch, a full performance audit reduced LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) from 9.7 seconds to 2.9 seconds — the hero portrait's preload tag is now injected server-side so the browser declares it high-priority in the initial HTML rather than discovering it after JavaScript runs. Google Tag Manager was also deferred to the load event, eliminating the 178ms main-thread block it caused during initial render. Cumulative Layout Shift was eliminated by removing a font preconnect that was triggering FOUT and switching the loading shimmer to a GPU-composited animation.
