A fully deployed, 15-page website for a women-run Bay Area garden design and maintenance studio — built from scratch with a filterable portfolio, 9 project detail pages, a before/after drag slider, and a live contact form backed by the Platform.co API. No template. No Squarespace.
The Platform
The Landscape Co. site reads as genuinely premium — photo-driven, typographically considered, and with enough depth to hold up against a professionally commissioned site. Prospective clients can browse the full portfolio, read individual project write-ups, and contact the studio directly. No Instagram. No Squarespace template.
The Problem
Garden design studios typically rely on Instagram or a single-page Squarespace site to represent their work — neither of which gives a serious business the presence it earns. The goal was a site that felt genuinely editorial and premium: photo-driven, typographically considered, and with enough depth — a real portfolio with individual project write-ups, a clear services breakdown, a team page, and a working contact form — to hold up against a professionally commissioned site. No framework, no template, hand-coded from scratch.
"A Squarespace site says you're a business that uses Squarespace. A custom site that loads fast, ranks on Google, and has 9 individual project pages with photos and written accounts says you take your work seriously — and so should the client."
Services
The services page breaks down each offering — full garden installs, seasonal maintenance, consultations — with enough detail that a prospective client knows what they're getting before they pick up the phone. Each service links directly to the contact form pre-filled with that service selected, reducing the friction between interest and inquiry.
Portfolio
The portfolio is the studio's primary sales tool — 9 past client projects that prospective clients browse before reaching out. Each project has its own dedicated page: photos, a written account of the work, and specs like plant list, site conditions, and timeline. The portfolio grid filters by service type client-side — instant, no reload — so clients looking for a full install aren't scrolling through maintenance jobs.
Filterable portfolio grid · the before/after drag slider on the Noe Valley project page — works on mouse and touch.
Always Current
The seasonal planting feature on the homepage updates itself automatically four times a year — no database, no CMS, no developer needed. The site pulls the current month and renders the relevant seasonal plant recommendations for the Bay Area. It's the kind of detail that tells a prospective client this site was built for this studio, not assembled from a template.
Contact
The contact form submits to the Platform.co API, which validates the payload, writes the submission to Supabase, and sends an email notification to the studio owner through Resend — immediately. On the client side, the form shows an inline success state or error message without a page reload. No third-party form service. No Typeform subscription.
"Every inquiry lands directly in the studio owner's inbox — formatted, organized, and ready to reply. No platform dashboard to check, no lead sitting unread."
Platform.co builds custom sites for garden studios, wellness practices, inns, salons, and more. Editorial quality, hand-coded, no template.
